About the ME3830B
The ME3830B is the instrument you reach for when ELF readings need to stand up to documentation. Gigahertz Solutions has manufactured professional EMF measurement equipment in Germany for over thirty years, and the ME3830B embodies that lineage: separate magnetic and electric field measurement, TCO- and SBM-compatible weighted modes, and calibrated accuracy of ±3% across a broad 5Hz to 400kHz band.
That frequency span catches everything low-frequency: 50/60Hz mains wiring, harmonics from variable-frequency drives and switching power supplies, transformer hum, and the higher-frequency transients that define dirty electricity. Switching between magnetic and electric mode on the same probe lets you trace sources — a high magnetic reading near a wall usually points to wiring errors; a high electric reading without a matching magnetic reading typically means an ungrounded lamp or device.
