“Dirty electricity” is the industry term for high-frequency voltage transients riding on top of the clean 50Hz or 60Hz sine wave your wiring is supposed to carry. These transients come from modern electronics — LED bulbs and drivers, dimmer switches, solar-panel inverters, switching power supplies, motor speed controls, and smart-meter communications. Once introduced on a circuit, they travel freely through the building wiring and radiate electric fields into every room.
The DE3 is a passive capacitive filter designed to shunt these 2-150 kHz transients away before they propagate. Plug it into a standard outlet on any circuit you want cleaned. The filter quietly absorbs the transient energy without affecting your normal power or appliances. Each unit covers approximately 100 square metres of circuit — typical homes need three to six filters depending on how many separate circuits branch from the consumer unit.
Made in the United Kingdom by Beneficial Environments, the DE3 is the filter that building biologists reach for first. It’s paired most effectively with a dirty electricity meter (like the deTekta) so you can measure your circuits before and after installation and confirm the filters are making a meaningful difference.
